*Job purpose*
The Environmental/Permitting Coordinator will be responsible for permitting and regulatory compliance management of the development of land and facilities for an active high production longwall mine.
This position will facilitate and coordinate the permitting and development of various surface projects.
This person will coordinate, direct and administer the inception and completion of various industrial permitted locations.
Assisting all support departments and utilizing knowledge, and applying leadership skills is expected.

*Duties and responsibilities*
* Performing due diligence, both pre and post-transaction, as well as coordination with in-house and outside counsel
* Assist in ensuring environmental compliance on existing projects, as well as preparing for future development.
* Address damage complaints, and settle/mitigate legal liability
* Assist in preparing site design and permit applications
* Monitor contractual obligations and ensure continued maintenance of existing agreements
* Preparing maps and other exhibits for internal business use
* Attend public meetings and coordinate with local governments.
* Coordination with state regulators and DEP inspectors
* Complete mine permit applications and obtain necessary permits for new or modified facilities
* Manage Title V air permit applications and commenting on draft permits to minimize risks
* Manage NPDES permit applications and commenting on draft permits to minimize risks and liability
* Manage installation and preconstruction of environmental capital projects
* Develop appropriate air emission modeling and permitting strategies to manage strategic air permitting initiatives or permit modifications as necessary to support business objectives
* Monitor and analyze environmental developing regulations and laws at the local, state, and federal levels, and assess their impact on the company's operations
* Work closely with the regulatory agencies and stakeholders to facilitate the permit review and approval process
* Manage the environmental stream permitting initiatives and provide guidance and support to environmental team members
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including internal teams, regulatory agencies, and local communities
* Represent the company on related industry committees
* Conduct environmental assessments and identify potential environmental risks and liabilities
* Advise MGR of Permitting on environmental permitting issues and regulatory changes
* Develop comments and engage with local, state, and federal agencies on air rulemakings and policy development
* Represent the company in regulatory meetings and hearings, and maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies and stakeholders
* All additional responsibilities as assigned

* Bachelor's Degree required.
