SUMMARY
Responsible for repairs and upgrades of the property, buildings, structures, and assets by using general construction knowledge.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Build and/or repair cabinets, doors, framework, floors or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, hand tools or power tools.
Install, repair and/or demo drywall.
Construction of walls, structures and other objects made of general construction materials.
Working knowledge of building codes.
Knowledge on selecting the appropriate materials depending on project needs.
Work with blue prints or instructions from supervisor.
The ability to create a material cost for upcoming jobs.
Capable of servicing and maintaining carpentry tools and equipment in a safe manner.
Keep an inventory list of items in the shop.
Sweeping and cleaning as needed.
Keep the shop room organization and let management know when supplies run low.
Knowledge of OSHA required standards.
All other duties as assigned.
REPORTING LINE
You will report directly to the Facilities Manager then to the Director of Maintenance.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Must have excellent communication skills, be polite, and present a neat appearance at all times.
Must be able to read and write to ensure proper and accurate report completion.
Excellent math skills.
The ability to work with others as a team in an efficient manner.
Proficient with hand tools, power tools, construction equipment and carpentry shop equipment.
Ability to recognize/remedy safety concerns and utilize all personal protective equipment as required
Time management, organization, documentation and meeting deadlines.
Knowledge on how to but not limited to the operation of ladders, hand/power tools, etc.
You must be at least 21 years old
Maintain a valid driver’s license.
You must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain and maintain a WV Racing License.
EDUCATIONAL AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years of carpentry experience.
REASONING ABILITY
The ability to trouble shoot and resolve issues.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
You will need to be able to stand, sit, bend, reach or walk for prolonged periods of time.
The ability to push, pull, kneel, twist, carry and lift up to 50 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Will be exposed to working in a noisy, smoke/secondary smoke environment and seasonal elements.
