Position Summary:
Clearwater Construction is currently accepting applications for a Bridge Laborer Trainee.
Work is in Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia.
Candidate will be required to join the Union.
Candidate must be reliable, punctual, and willing to work hard in order to learn new skills for an exciting career in heavy/highway bridge construction.
You will be responsible for performing tasks involving physical labor at job sites, be trained in all aspects for heavy highway bridge construction laborer activities with emphasis on safety, including the operation of hand and power tools of all types.
You will work with materials such as steel, concrete, wood, and plastic; and you will clean and prepare job sites, dig trenches, set braces to support sides of excavations, backfill excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble, debris and waste materials, as well as load and unload materials, tools and equipment.
You will learn the process of mixing ingredients to create compounds for covering or cleaning surfaces, mix, pour, spread, or smooth and finish concrete, grind, scrape, sand surfaces, lubricate, clean or make minor repairs in equipment or tools, assist other craft workers as needed.
You may perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Physical endurance and the ability to successfully perform physical activities, including some heavy lifting, is required, as well as working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Must exhibit good hand-eye coordination, demonstrated ability to accept and follow instructions from others, and a willingness and ability to work cooperatively with others.
Understanding of how to properly conduct oneself on client’s property.
Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
Must have reliable means of transportation and a valid Driver’s License.
Wages will be per the current union rates, hourly base rate and fringe benefits.
