As a *Substitute Teacher*, you will be working with preschool aged children in the classroom, providing educational and emotional support and guidance on an as-needed basis.
To be a *Substitute Teacher*, you must have at least an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or Childhood Development, or a degree in a related field with an appropriate number of related credits.
You must have a passion for working with children and the ability to keep up with children on a daily basis.

*JOB REQUIREMENTS:*
* Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development preferred, or a degree in a related field, which includes at least 6 classes in early childhood education or child development.
Baccalaureate or advanced degree preferred.
* Supervisory experience preferred.
* One year experience in a preschool or similar setting preferred.
* Valid driver's license, safe driving record, and the ability to drive around in the service area is required.
* Excellent communication skills with children and adults required.
* Ability to keep pace with children by moving quickly, as well as standing for extended periods, excessive bending, kneeling, sitting on the floor, and lifting of children ages zero to five on a daily basis are required.
* Ability to understand and effectively work with children with special needs, and patience and tolerance to deal with a large group of children are required.
* Must be available to work on an as-needed basis at facilities within both Ohio and Marshall counties
*JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:*
* Fills in for the regular classroom teacher as needed, completing all typical tasks throughout the work day.
* Ensures the safety and security of all children in the classroom at all times through observation, head counts, troubleshooting risks, and working as a team member with other staff members.
* Utilizes the curriculum to develop and plan appropriate lessons that promote children's thinking and learning experiences through a variety of learning activities.
This includes individualized lesson plans as needed based on children's emerging skills and Individual Education Plan objectives and assessment results.
* Designs the classroom environment to support the development of cognitive, social, self-help and physical skills through interesting and varied learning experiences.
Maintains a stable, calm and supportive environment by providing a predictable routine, fostering positive social behaviors, and being responsive to children's needs.
* Keeps children on task throughout the day by asking questions, calling children by name, getting on the child's level which includes sitting and kneeling on the floor for individual communication and group activities, and using appropriate body contact.
* Supervises assigned classroom staff to ensure the education plan is being implemented on a daily basis and monitors appropriate child/adult interaction.
