What does an Abstractor do at Northwest Title?
Examines and drafts abstract reports of real estate title records from local courthouses as well as online
Ensures that title to a property is marketable and insurable, and identify all clouds that would affect marketability
Demonstrates a quick turnaround with complete and accurate reports
Travels to/from courthouses as needed, to perform abstracts, record documents, drop-off/pickup documents
Assists our Title Department with solving claims, clouds on title, and may serve as back up for the production of title products
Required qualifications for an Abstractor include:
Relevant experience in real estate related industry required, and prior experience with real estate title abstracting
Do we need to note the counties that they need to have experience in?
Able to type a minimum of 55 WPM
Proficiency in all applicable software/hardware applications, including a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel, and QuickBooks preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization as well as vendors.
Ability to demonstrate initiative and reflect a sense of urgency by meeting or exceeding deadlines.
